SUSOP is a sustainability risk management framework for resources projects and operations.

Winner of the Institution of Chemical Engineers' Sustainable Technology Award 2012

SUSOP Background

SUSOP is a sustainability risk management framework for resources projects and operations.  It comprises a holistic, systematic and rigorous set of processes for incorporating sustainable development principles into the design and operation of industrial processing plants.

The structured process of multi disciplinary workshops and supporting analysis is conducted at the early phases (concept, pre feasibility and feasibility) of industrial projects (mining, chemical, energy, oil and gas).

At the heart of SUSOP is a systematic and rigorous step-by-step procedure.  This ensures critical environmental, community and social issues are identified and then translated into real operating designs and practices, which deliver new innovative solutions.  Importantly, SUSOP does not compromise financial outcomes.

SUSOP was the winner of the Institution of Chemical Engineers International Sustainable Technology Award in 2012.
